Here is the second installment of my Techniques of the Month. This one is more of a drill ( play fighting ) but you can use it as a flow drill for your entry into a technique(s). Have a constant flow of doing the movement and take turn executing a technique because the hardest thing to do is making the technique while in constant motion. Again there are many possible flow drills one can use as there entry and just as much possible techniques that could be executed. Be creative and have fun. This drill I learnt from Guro Louie Lindo.
Techniques for the Month of May
An example using the animation as our foundation. When the person on the left attacks player B ( right), player B may block it force to force or deflect it downward with his alive hand then snake in under and around and at the same time do a backhand witik to player`s A head. Player B continues his snaking then apply a triangle lock on the arm using the stick....then maybe a knee or takedown afterward. There are many possibilities.
Another example could be where the players forearms meet, player B (in black) could continue with his motion and apply a backhand witik. If there is too much of a resistance on Player A`s part player B could do a tapi or a pok sau and move right into the trapping range and apply a backhand or forehand punyo (butt) strike with the stick hand.
Be creative and train with an open mind
