Tiger Academy of Martial Arts recently had the pleasure of hosting Guro Louie Lindo (front row 2nd from left) and his assistant Edward Wong (far left front row) over in the Comox Valley to do a 5 hour seminar covering solo baston trunkadas. Guro Lindo enlightened us with his unique blend of Filipino Martial Arts using only the single stick.
Incorporated within the techniques taught were joint/body locks with the stick as well using ones own body to apply the locks. As well throws and takedowns using subtle body movements that put torque or stress on the opponent to take him/her down. Hand drills as well as stick drills were also covered.
Overall the seminar was a succes which was enjoyed by everyone who attended.Uploaded April 30/99
